About Neil Murray
x
After over 25 years experience working with individuals and couples, I have
found that it takes more than insight to significantly change one's life.
Although insight is certainly helpful, couples and individuals need to move,
with respectful, caring guidance, from old stuck positions and beliefs to
new paradigms.
I do not sit quietly, nodding my head saying "uh-huh, or tell me more",
only to say "sorry, time's up". I am directive. You will know
who I am, and what I think will be helpful.
Although unhappy lives have many earmarks - depression, anxiety, addictions,
past traumas, and relationship problems, no one person's unhappy life is
exactly like another's. Consequently one's therapeutic plan should address
each individual's needs.
I have done extensive postgraduate work in couples and family therapy, psychodynamic
and cognitive behavioral therapy. I have trained with nationally known family
therapists, Terry Real, and David Kantor. In addition to my private practice,
I have worked with the Veterans Administration specializing in Post Traumatic
Stress Disorder. I also have been trained in EMDR specifically to help with
that work.
